In addition to tourism,
Southeastern Oklahoma State University adds a richness to Durant,
with theatre, arts, sports, and much more.
Durant has fostered excellent schools at all levels. We are home to
the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma, and a Sports Medicine
Center. Business enterprises such as Bio-diesel fuel, the Choctaw
Nation, & Rural Enterprises of Oklahoma, Inc. are spurring Durant’s
economic growth. Durant also has a
strong agriculture and agribusiness base, nestled in the fertile
bottom lands of the
Blue and Red Rivers—some of the best grazing country in the State,
for cattle, horses, livestock and hay. |
